Configuring Scan Interval

Configure the interval at which the agent collects data during scans for the assets associated with a configuration profile. The interval is the time lapse between the completion of the previous scan and the start of the next scan. Scan intervals are applied the next time the agent downloads the configuration profile.

To configure the scan interval, go to Agent Management > Configuration Profiles, and then edit an existing profile or create a new one.

Configure Data Collection Interval

Scan Interval specifies when a manifest will be executed. Select the interval in minutes between 240 minutes (4 hours) and 43200 minutes (30 days). The default for VM scans is 240 minutes, and for PC scans, it is 720 minutes.

Configure Scan Delay

The time added to the start of scanning, both for new installs and for interval scanning. Value of 0 (zero) means no delay added.

Configure Scan Randomize

The range of randomization added to Scan Delay to offset scanning. For example, if the randomization range is 60 minutes, then a random number between 1 and 60 is calculated and used to delay the start of the next scanning interval. Value of 0 (zero) means no randomization will occur.

Note: For the supported platform and agent version for scan delay and scan randomize feature, refer to Features by Agent Version section in the Cloud Agent Platform Availability Matrix.

Configure Scan on Startup

If you enable the Scan on Startup option, agent runs the vulnerability scans automatically when the agent service starts. By default, the feature is disabled.

Note: This feature is not available by default. To enable the feature, contact your Qualys representative.
