Global Dashboard Permissions

You can simultaneously assign dashboard permissions to users of all the modules that have Unified Dashboard (UD) integrated with it. You can also provide or restrict access to the Unified Dashboard application for a user.

Which permissions can be assigned to a role in Global Dashboard Permissions?

You can assign the following permissions:

- Unified Dashboard Application access

- Create, edit, and delete own dashboards

- Edit dashboards created by other users

- Delete dashboards created by other users

- Print or download dashboards as reports

Tell me about Unified Dashboard User role.

We provide a pre-defined role named Unified Dashboard User to provide access to the Unified Dashboard application. Once this role is assigned to a user, the Unified Dashboard application is listed in the application picker and user is able to access the application.

To provide the access, you can either assigned the predefined role or change the permissions associated with existing role. If you have users with existing roles, you can edit the permissions associated with the role and assign "Unified Dashboard Application Access" permission to an existing role.

By default, the Scanner, Reader, and Unit Manager users are assigned access to the Unified Dashboard application.

What happens when Global Dashboard permissions conflict with module-specific dashboard permissions?

The Global Dashboard permissions having a higher precedence over module-specific dashboard permissions (only for modules where UD is integrated) and hence it overrides the module-specific dashboard permissions.

Tell me the default Global Dashboard permissions assigned to the existing user roles.

Depending on the permissions assigned to the role, the default global dashboard permissions are assigned for each role. A Manager (or user with full permissions and scopes) is assigned all the permissions whereas for a Unit Manager, the Dashboard permissions from VM/VMDR module are replicated. To view default permissions for each user role, see Assigned User Roles.
