You can create a custom script and add information in the required fields, select required assets, and assign tags.

1. In Qualys SM, navigate to the Scripts tab .

2. Click Create and then select New Script from the drop-down menu.

3. In the Script Details window, enter a name for the script and then provide the following details:

- Severity: The severity level defines the criticality of the script. Select a value from 1 to 5)

- Threshold: The threshold value lets you specify how long a script must be in execution.

- Unit: Unit is set as Seconds by default.

4. Select the PC check-box option to allow integration with PC app and then click Next. In the Add Script window, do the following:

a. Select the Platform (Windows or Linux) from the drop-down option.

b. Select the Type and Category from the drop-down.

c. Click Browse to upload the script in Select Script option. Alternatively, type the script in the Script field.

d. Click Next.

You will be redirected to Add Script window.

5. In the Assign Assets window, select one of the following two options:

- Assign Assets: Lets you select from list of available PC assets. The assets are displayed based on the Platform selected in previous steps.

For example, if Windows was selected as Platform, then only Windows assets are displayed in the Assets list. You can select maximum 25 assets at a time.

Or

- Assign Tags: Lets you select the required tag. All the assets associated with the selected tag are included for script execution.

The Exclude Assets field becomes active when you select a tag. You can de-select some assets under the selected tag to exclude them from executing. You can de-select maximum 25 assets at a time.

6. Click Next.

You will be redirected to Review and Confirm window.

7. Click Confirm & Save to create the script. The newly created script will be listed on the Script landing page.

According to the SM Data Retention policy, if a script is not modified/executed for 6 months, it will be automatically deprecated. And a deprecated script will be automatically deleted after 7 days as part of a scheduled job.

Next steps:

1)     Test the script on assets.

This is an optional step.

2)   Execute the script.

A job is created when you execute a script. Once the job is complete, you can click on Job Details to view the script output on each asset.
